Slaughtering a non-Muslim’s animal and taking a fee
Question
Question: If a non-Muslim (kafir) has a Muslim slaughter a goat, a cow or the like, should he do it or not? And if he slaughters, should he do it in the Sunna way, or just slaughter it like that, without “Bismillah”? And if the non-Muslim or a Muslim gives some of the meat of the slaughtered animal or some money in return for the slaughtering, is it permissible to take it or not?
Answer
He should slaughter in the Sunna way. Giving and taking money as a fee for slaughtering is correct; fixing the meat of that slaughtered animal as the fee is not correct. So it is in Radd al-Muhtar and al-Hindiyya.
