Employment writing income-tax and sales-tax accounts
Question
Question: Work on account books in which sales tax and income tax are recorded, where, for showing to the government, the formalities are completed by showing haphazard — indeed merely nominal — income and sales. (1) The question is: is it right to do this work or not? (2) Is it permissible to take a wage for doing this account-book work or not? (3) Is it permissible to save income tax by deceiving the government or not?
Answer
(1/2/3) In the account books some of the work was done correctly and some incorrectly; because of this the whole work and its wage will not be called impermissible: the wage for permissible work is permissible, and the wage for impermissible work is impermissible.
