Splashing Muslims with Holi colour

Question

During the days of Holi (the Hindu festival of colours), Hindus forcibly splash colour on Muslims. What is the Shari‘a status of this? Also, what is the ruling on Muslims taking part in Holi together with Hindus?

Answer

This is against the Shari‘a and against the law as well; the police have even beaten those who do this. If someone, out of his own weakness, is intimidated and overpowered, that is another matter.
