Giving the name Husayn Ahmad

Question: [ar]ما قولكم رحمكم الله في التسمية بحسين أحمد، هل تجوز أو لا؟ بينوا بالكتاب توجروا بالثواب؟[/ar] “What do you say, may Allah have mercy on you, about naming someone Husayn Ahmad: is it permissible or not? Explain from the Book and be rewarded.”

Answer

[ar]«لم أره صريحًا، ولكن الترتيب اللغوي لا يمنع الجواز؛ لكون المضاف صفة للمضاف إليه، وهذا مما له شواهد في كلام العرب».[/ar] “I have not seen it explicitly, but the linguistic word order does not prevent permissibility, since the first term of the genitive construction (mudaf) is an attribute of the second (mudaf ilayhi), and this has attestations in the speech of the Arabs.”
