A barber and the shaving of the beard

Question: I am a barber. The Muslims here are compelling me to have my beard shaved off, and, having convened a community council, they want to shave off my beard by force. Is there any allowance in the Shari‘a for having the beard shaved off?

Answer

Shaving the beard is impermissible. It is in no way permissible for the community council to compel anyone to an impermissible act, and it is not permissible for you either to obey the community council in an impermissible act.
