The barber who shaves beards and the tailor who sews the clothing of the sinful

Question

Question: Will the barber who shaves beards also be held accountable or not, since this is his profession: as the people order, so he makes it? Likewise, the tailor who sews English coats, or shorts, or trousers and the like — what is the ruling on this?

Answer

Such a barber and tailor are also sinful; thus it is in “al-Durr al-Mukhtar” with “Radd al-Muhtar” (vol. 5, p. 251) and in Zaylaʿi (vol. 6, p. 49).
