Jinn coming at shrines
Question
Question: In our village there are two or three shrines belonging to non-Muslims, about which it is believed that they all hear. Every year a fair is held there; people come from far away, make vows, bring offerings, a ritual gathering takes place, and their spirit comes upon the devotees; regular statements are made, decisions are given, illnesses are also cured, and this goes on for several days.
Answer
Jinn enter the human body and put on spectacles; their aim is amusement and the corruption of beliefs and deeds. Sometimes it also happens that if someone recites the Qur’an in front of them, they too begin to recite. One should keep away from such places. Making a vow (nadhr) to anyone other than Allah is a sin, indeed it is shirk. Never take part in their activities.
