Burning jinn

Question

Question: Can jinn be burned or not, given that they were created from fire — how then can they burn? And what is the Shari‘a ruling on this act of the practitioners of incantations?

Answer

If they do not leave one alone by any other means but keep on tormenting, then burning them is also permissible. Man was created from earth (clay), yet when struck by a clod of earth he is bruised and his head is split open, and if a mud roof or wall falls on him he is crushed and even dies. In the same way, fire can cause pain to the jinn, and they can be burned by fire.
