Repeated recitation (khatm) of Surah Ya-Sin for one’s needs

Question

Question: Many women, in order to have their needs fulfilled and their troubles removed, recite Surah Ya-Sin 41 or 71 times, convey its reward to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and to everyone, and then make du‘a for themselves. Is this method also permissible or not?

Answer

The practice of reciting Surah Ya-Sin 41 or 71 times and then making du‘a is fine if it has been proven beneficial by experience and calamities are removed through it. The fundamental practice for removing calamities, however, is fulfilling the rights of Allah and the rights of people, abstaining from sins, and also spreading the sunna.
