Reciting blessings and salam at the blessed Rawda after ʿIsha
Question
Question: After the ʿIsha prayer, reciting salawat and salam near the blessed tomb (al-Rawda al-Aqdas) is forbidden — why is that? Does the Prophet ﷺ rest after the ʿIsha prayer, so that blessings and salam cause him discomfort? To what extent does this have any connection with the Qur’an and hadith?
Answer
Blessings and salam near the blessed Rawda ﷺ are correct at all times and are a means of nearness (to Allah) and felicity. They are not forbidden at any time. Saying that it is forbidden after ʿIsha is without proof.
