Seclusion with a non-mahram, even if he is religious
Question
If Zayd places his wife, son and daughter under the guardianship of Khalid, will he in such a case deserve censure and reproach, or congratulation?
Answer
If Khalid is fit for guardianship, is acquainted with upbringing and is religious, then there is no censure or reproach. May Allah Most High protect from trial (fitna)! For a girl to live with a non-mahram, or to go to him without hijab, or to be in seclusion with him is not permissible, even if he is religious.
