ʿAzl and the condom
Question
ʿAzl (coitus interruptus) is done to cut off offspring, and the F. L. rubber “balloon” (condom) is also for the same purpose. What is the difference between the two according to the ruling of the Shari‘a?
Answer
Both are contrary to the intent of the Shari‘a; this ʿazl has been called “the hidden burying alive” (wa’d khafi).
