Applying kohl with goat’s gall

Question

May medicines be mixed into goat’s gall and put into the eye as a liquid extract, or not? Is its use permissible according to the Shari‘a or not? Please write whatever the case is.

Answer

Eating goat’s gall is impermissible, but there is latitude for mixing it into kohl and the like and applying it to the eye.
