Donkey’s milk for treatment

Question

Zayd has been ill for a long time and is now under the treatment of a Hindu doctor. The doctor has said: “Unless you drink donkey’s milk along with the medicine, you will certainly not recover.” What is the ruling for this sick person?

Answer

If a religious, experienced practitioner prescribes that this is the only treatment and that no other treatment will be of benefit, then it is permissible.
