Coca-Cola, Medicines, Doctors’ Medicine
Question
Nowadays bottled Coca-Cola is being drunk, and it contains 5 percent wine as a component; likewise some medicines contain such a component. What is the ruling on both?
Answer
Wine — whether in medicine, in food, or in Coca-Cola and the like — is impermissible everywhere. I have not investigated into which things wine is mixed. The rulings of compulsion (dire necessity) are separate.
