Eating a hen that “gives the adhan”

Question

Question: We have a hen at home that has started “giving the adhan” (crowing like a rooster). What should I do? People say that this is a sign of ill omen.

Answer

There is nothing of ill omen in this. Keeping this hen, using its eggs and eating its meat are all permissible.
