Mubahala

Question

These days a very great clamour has been raised by the innovators throughout Gujarat, and, by misleading and inciting the ignorant, they are plotting to break heads. The purpose of the question is only this: just as the Most Holy Prophet ﷺ, by proclaiming mubahala (mutual invocation of Allah’s curse upon the liars) to the Christians of Najran, subdued them, so if some servant of Allah from among the people of truth (ahl al-haqq)

Answer

There is now neither any need nor any permission for performing mubahala: the religion has been perfected, the proofs for everything exist in detail; whatever discussion is held, let it be held in the light of the proofs. There is no need to take these people on; pay no attention to their accusations and slanders.
