Why a Barelvi Does Not Pray Behind Deobandis

(1) When all four imams are correct, why is a Barelvi’s prayer not valid behind a Deobandi?

Answer

(1) This disagreement is not like the disagreement between the Shafi‘is and the Hanafis; rather, the Barelvis call the venerable ulama of Deoband — indeed, all Muslims other than themselves — kafirs. They have written in their book that whoever does not regard them [the ulama of Deoband] as kafirs is himself a kafir. Why, then, would they pray behind anyone at all?
