Failing to fulfil a sworn promise is disrespect to the Noble Qur’an
Question
Question: Has the guarantor not shown disrespect to the Qur’an by deliberately denying the sworn promise?
Answer
To take the Noble Qur’an in one’s hand, swear by it and make a promise, and then, despite remembering it, deliberately deny the promise is undoubtedly a grave offence; it is contrary to reverence for the Holy Qur’an and entails disrespect towards it.
