A soldier selling wine and using the proceeds for other purposes
Question
Question: Those serving in the army are issued wine, rice and flour. If they wish to sell this wine and acquire some sports and games equipment for their people, what is the ruling? Or if they hold a feast with that money in which both Muslims and non-Muslims take part, what is the ruling?
Answer
Drinking wine, selling it, buying it and giving it to others to drink are all impermissible and haram, and they bring down a curse. Whether one gives it to a Muslim or to a non-Muslim to drink, none of it is permissible.
