Slaughtering a Black Goat in a Special Manner

Question

A certain person slaughters a black goat on the 27th of Ramadan: all the people of the household dye their hands with turmeric and press them upon it; then they have the imam slaughter it; its head and trotters they bury at a crossroads; they have pilaf cooked from the meat and feed people with it; and they do all this with the goat in the name of Kali (the Hindu goddess); and they have the imam recite the qul (the “qul” surahs). If the imam does not do this, he cannot remain at the mosque.

Answer

This act is a grave sin, close to shirk, and eating this goat is haram: it is nothing but carrion.
