Why Will the Dog of the People of the Cave Enter Paradise?

Question

Why will the dog of the Ashab al-Kahf (the People of the Cave) enter Paradise? Is this correct? And is it established by an authentic hadith that it will enter in human form and enjoy houris and palaces? If this is in a noble hadith, then the chain of transmission (isnad) of that hadith, its soundness, and the reference to the book are required.

Answer

In “Sharh al-Ashbah wa al-Naza’ir”, p. 399, several animals are mentioned that will enter Paradise. The reason for their special status is the grace of God: He does as He wills; this is not a matter in which, by extracting the effective cause (‘illa), analogy (qiyas) could be applied to everything.
