Do Innocent Children Fall Ill Because of Some Fault?

Question

In this world children fall ill and remain in suffering, even though they are innocent. What fault have they committed?

Answer

How was it known that this is a punishment for some fault? In reality the very premise is wrong — that whatever illness or suffering befalls anyone here is a punishment for some fault; rather, there are other wisdoms (masalih) in it as well.
