Folding and Unfolding the Hands by the Listeners During the Khutba

Question

On Friday the followers (muqtadis), while seated during the khutba, assume the posture of tashahhud and keep their hands folded, and during the second khutba they unfold their hands and place them on their knees. What is the status of doing so?
