The Birth of a Child with Teeth
Question
A daughter has been born to me, but she has teeth. From the day this girl was born I have been in every kind of trouble. Some people say that she is ill-omened. For this reason I have not even been able to perform her ‘aqiqa. What is the ruling of the Sacred Law in this matter?
Answer
There is nothing ill-omened in this; do not think so at all. The ‘aqiqa is mustahabb (recommended): if you have the means, perform the ‘aqiqa. Among the Salaf too some were born with teeth, such as al-Dahhak ﵀.
