The Prophet ﷺ Was Also Given Nur

Question

What is the occasion of revelation (sha’n al-nuzul) of the verse: [ar]قَدْ جَآءَكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ نُورٌ وَكِتَـٰبٌ مُّبِينٌ[/ar] “There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book” (Surah al-Ma’ida, 5:15)?

Answer

The Jews used to conceal some matters of their scripture and disclose others. Allah the Exalted informed the Prophet ﷺ of this, and through the light of prophethood (nur al-nubuwwa) the matter became fully manifest to him. This is what has been stated in this verse: from Allah the Prophet ﷺ was granted the Book (the Glorious Qur’an)
