الْحَلَالُ بَيِّنٌ وَالْحَرَامُ بَيِّنٌ، وَبَيْنَهُمَا مُشَبَّهَاتٌ لَا يَعْلَمُهَا كَثِيرٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ، فَمَنِ اتَّقَى الْمُشَبَّهَاتِ اسْتَبْرَأَ لِدِينِهِ وَعِرْضِهِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between them are doubtful matters that many people do not know. Whoever guards against the doubtful matters protects his religion and his honor.”

E337 Sodium potassium tartrate — is it halal?

Description

A double salt of tartaric acid in which one carboxyl group is neutralised by potassium and the other by sodium; its old name is Rochelle salt. The feedstock is the same as for the whole group — tartar, lees and grape marc — neutralised here with sodium alkali or soda.
