الْحَلَالُ بَيِّنٌ وَالْحَرَامُ بَيِّنٌ، وَبَيْنَهُمَا مُشَبَّهَاتٌ لَا يَعْلَمُهَا كَثِيرٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ، فَمَنِ اتَّقَى الْمُشَبَّهَاتِ اسْتَبْرَأَ لِدِينِهِ وَعِرْضِهِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between them are doubtful matters that many people do not know. Whoever guards against the doubtful matters protects his religion and his honor.”

E335 Sodium tartrates — is it halal?

Description

Two sodium salts of tartaric acid under one code: monosodium tartrate E 335(i) and disodium tartrate E 335(ii). No source read describes a manufacturing process: EFSA states plainly that no information on the manufacture of the disodium salt was available to it, and says nothing at all about the monosodium salt. The only statement of origin is the US one: 21 CFR 184.
