Paying zakat money as salaries without tamlik
Question
If the rector of a madrasa pays the teachers their salaries without tamlik (transfer of ownership), even though the rector has been told that spending zakat wealth without tamlik is impermissible, then in this case no sin will fall upon the teachers, will it?
Answer
If the teachers know that this zakat money is being paid as salary, they should refuse to take it; however, if they take it, the zakat will not be discharged and the rector will remain liable for compensation (daman).
