Building a wall around a graveyard
Question
What is the ruling on building a wall on all four sides of a graveyard? If it has been built, will this be counted among the deeds of the extravagant (musrifin) and the squanderers (mubadhdhirin) or not? Will the one who built it be an innovator or not?
Answer
If protection from animals is intended, or there is fear that without an enclosure its land will pass into the possession of others, then building a boundary wall around it is correct, indeed better. This does not fall under extravagance (israf) and squandering (tabdhir).
