Exchanging Graveyard Land: Another Site for the Graveyard or Other Land for the Imam

Question

Question: If the site of the graveyard is assigned to some other place, is that permissible or not? Or should other land be assigned to the imam of the mosque, and this be kept as a graveyard? Kindly write what is proper and better in this.

Answer

If the waqif made this land a waqf for burying the dead, then other land should be given to the imam for cultivation; if the waqif made it a waqf for the needs of the mosque, then other land should be assigned for burying the dead.
