Sleeping in the Mosque by One Who Has a House
Question
There is a person who has a house and also a family, yet he always sleeps in the mosque instead of at home; he regards the mosque, as it were, as his house, although he keeps none of his belongings there apart from his bedding. How is this, and what is its ruling?
Answer
One should not permanently make the mosque one’s house and take up residence there; this is makruh and contrary to the reverence due to the mosque. But if someone is overcome by sleep so that he misses the congregation or his prayer becomes qada (missed and made up later)
