Spending on the Mosque the Compensation for the Abolished Landlord System
Question
Like the abolition of the landlord system, the landlord holdings of the awqaf have also been abolished. The government is giving a small compensation as an annuity (?), and some in the form of bonds (?), the money for which will be received over forty years. The question is this: in future a small sum of money will be received — may one take interest on it, or the “profit upon profit” that it (the government) gives every year — and may this interest be spent on every work of the mosque?
Answer
All this compensation, being counted as (the value of) the land, may be spent on the mosque.
