Staying in the Mosque Without the Mutawalli’s Permission

Question

May Afaq Husayn stay in this mosque without the permission of the mutawalli (trustee of the waqf), or not — given that his own house is near the mosque?

Answer

Sleeping in the mosque is makruh; he should sleep at his own house. The mutawalli also has no right to grant permission for this. For one who is in i‘tikaf (mu‘takif) or a traveller there is leeway.
