The Founder’s Family Is More Entitled to the Trusteeship
Question
The first mutawalli (trustee) was removed. Do they have the right to appoint someone else orally on their own behalf, given that the second mutawalli is the brother of the owner of the mosque, and this mosque has long been that of my forefathers, my family used to bear all its expenses, and now I bear the expenses?
Answer
As long as there are people in the family of the mosque’s founder who are qualified to be mutawalli, they are more entitled than others.
