One Who Does Not Pray as Mutawalli of a Mosque

Question

Is a mutawalli (trustee) who does not perform the prayer fit to remain mutawalli or not?

Answer

The basic service of a mutawalli is the management and administration of the mosque, and it is necessary to be skilled in this. However, since the mutawalli must also be trustworthy (amin) and honest, and a person who abandons the fard (obligatory duties) is a fasiq (openly sinful)
