An Eidgah on mosque land

Question

Question: What is the ruling on making an Eidgah (place for the Eid prayer) on a small portion of the mosque’s land? And if it has already been completed, what is to be done about it?

Answer

If there are no crops or the like there, performing the Eid prayer there is valid; but abolishing its income and making it a permanent Eidgah is contrary to the intent of the waqif (endower), and this is not permitted: it should be made a source of income.
