Waqf by a Minor

Question

A child who was 12/13 years old made his house a waqf. In reality, his paternal aunt did this by applying pressure; the child was being brought up under her care. So has this house of mine become a waqf or not? Now God has had me married; if I had my own door (i.e. home), I would set up a household. In this situation, what is the ruling on this waqf?

Answer

A waqf made by a minor is not recognized in the Shari‘a. If you were a minor at the time of making the waqf, then that waqf was not valid and your ownership did not come to an end. And your paternal aunt has no right on her own to make your house a waqf.
