Not performing the sacrifice when life is in danger
Question
You are well aware that the Hindu community harbours intense hatred and enmity regarding the slaughter of animals by Muslims, and that this is a very great point of contention. So, in such circumstances, when the atmosphere of the city is extremely troubled and turbulent, may one, instead of the sacrifice (slaughtering an animal)
Answer
If performing the sacrifice would require sacrificing one’s life, and the sacrifice cannot be performed without that, then the sacrifice should be left, and after the days of sacrifice each person should give the value of the wajib amount in sadaqa to deserving poor people — whether they are ruined Muslims or other relatives, poor people or students who are deserving.
