What should be done with the blood of the sacrifice

Question: What should be done with the blood of the sacrifice — should it simply be left as it is? What is the way of showing it respect?

Answer

The Shari‘a has not commanded that respect be shown to the blood of the sacrifice. Just as the blood of other slaughtered animals is impure and filthy (najis), likewise the blood of the sacrifice too is impure and filthy. It should simply be left as it is, and buried in a pit by throwing earth over it.
