Giving the rope of the sacrificial animal in sadaqa

Question

Question: If, instead of the rope or chain with which the sacrificial animal is tied, its price is paid, is that correct or not? Explain, and be rewarded.

Answer

Giving the rope or chain in charity (sadaqa) is mustahabb, not fard. By paying the price there will indeed be reward for that, but the mustahabb act of giving the rope itself in sadaqa will not be attained.
