Calling one’s wife “Granny”

Question

Question: If someone said to his wife in jest, “You are becoming a real granny” — the man said it to the woman over something surprising, although the husband is not even in the habit of saying such things — is expiation (kaffara) now obligatory?

Answer

In this case no expiation (kaffara) is obligatory; the nikah remains intact as before.
