Playing Cards Does Not Nullify Wudu

Question

A certain man plays cards a great deal; when the adhan is called he joins the prayer without performing wudu, saying: “My wudu remains intact.” Does wudu remain while one goes on playing cards?

Answer

Playing cards is prohibited, but it does not nullify wudu, just as is the case with many other sins. Because it is a sin, giving it up is necessary, although the prayer will be valid.
