A Salary for the Mudarib

Question

Zayd entered into a mudaraba with Umar, that is, the money is Zayd’s and Umar trades with it; so to speak, the capital is Zayd’s and the labour is Umar’s, and in the profit both share half and half. Now Umar says that, in addition to the profit, he ought to receive some amount from the shop as a salary as well. So Zayd also fixed one hundred rupees a month from the shop as a salary. What is asked is: may the mudarib (working partner)

Answer

It is not valid to fix a salary for the mudarib.
