If the Elbows Touch the Chest During Supplication
Question
If, while supplicating with raised hands, the elbows touch the chest, and also the sitting is not like the sitting (qa‘da) of the prayer — is there any sin in this?
Answer
No, there is no sin. Editor’s note: raising the hands in supplication up to [the level of] the chest and shoulders is among the etiquettes (adab) of supplication, and no sin is incurred by leaving the etiquettes.
