The measure of the distance for qasr

Question

What is the distance by which a traveller becomes permitted to shorten the prayer (qasr)?

Answer

According to the Sacred Law, qasr is performed for a distance of three days at a moderate pace. Walking the whole day is not required; rather, walking from morning until zawal in the winter season is what counts.
