Tasbihs in tarawih
Question
We recite tasbihs in tarawih; they have been sent to you. So, is reciting them permissible or not: [ar]الصلاة سنة التراويح رحمكم الله[/ar] “The prayer — the sunna of tarawih, may Allah have mercy on you.” After every two rak‘as of tarawih this du‘a’ is to be recited once: [ar]فضل من الله ونعمته ومغفرته ورحمته وعافيته والسلام، لا إله إلا الله والله أكبر…[/ar] “A bounty from Allah, and His favour, and His forgiveness, and His mercy, and His well-being, and peace; there is no god but Allah, and Allah is Greatest…
Answer
Reciting the tasbihs you have written on the paper is neither established from the noble hadith nor is it in the books of fiqh. Therefore recite the tasbih that the fuqaha’ have written, or recite salawat and occupy yourselves with istighfar; as far as possible, recite quietly. The practice that has become customary is not established — reform it.
