An error in the order of recitation
Question
The imam recited “وَٱلضُّحَىٰ وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ” (Surah al-Duha, 93:1–2), then from the sura that precedes it he skipped one verse and began reciting from here: “وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ وَمَا خَلَقَ…” (Surah al-Layl, 92:2–3), that is, he recited that sura to the end. Will the prayer be valid in this case or not? Is sajda al-sahw due, or will the prayer have to be repeated, or will the prayer be valid without doing anything?
Answer
In this case the prayer did not become fasid. Sajda al-sahw did not become wajib either. Repeating the prayer (i‘ada) is not necessary either. The meaning was not distorted by this mistake.
