Blood falling on the cap during the prayer

Question

Zayd was praying when a small bird struck the fan and fell; its wing broke and blood flowed, and its blood fell on Zayd's cap. He learned of it afterwards. Will repeating (i'ada) this prayer be wajib or not?

Answer

If more than one dirham of blood got on it, the prayer became fasid (invalid). If this is discovered in the very midst of the prayer, he should end the prayer at that moment, purify the garment and pray again. If he does not notice it, then when he learns of it he should purify the garment and perform the repetition (i'ada).
