Following One Who Is Praying Individually (Munfarid)

Question

If a munfarid (one praying individually) is performing the ‘Isha’ prayer aloud (jahri), and some other muqtadi (follower) joins him, but that munfarid does not make the niyya of leading the prayer and moreover does not say the transitional takbirs (takbirat al-intiqal) aloud — in this situation the follower keeps following him without the imam saying the takbir. Will the prayer be valid or not?

Answer

The prayer will be valid.
